The heart of the new Africa we Want (AwW) online platform is found in the day-to-day work of the African YMCAs to ensure youth are in the driver’s seat for the African Renaissance. The Countries Section on the online platform will provide a regularly updated space for announcements about project activities undertaken by each country, as well as the unique challenges they face and the ongoing strategies they employ to address youth development needs in their country.
For now, the Countries Section will house information about five countries who are in year two of AwW implementation: Ethiopia, Ghana, Madagascar, South Africa and Kenya. We will soon be adding new countries who have come on board this year: Togo, Cameroun, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
The Countries Section will see some impressive changes in the coming few weeks, with fully updated content that describes what each country has been up to and how their work has changed the lives of their youth and young project participants. We will also post monthly updates on their activities, photo essays, and regular case studies so that you can get a very real sense of the day-to-day lived realities of African youth and the ways in which the AwW participants work to bring the vision of Agenda 2063 to fruition.
